Moody and magical images among the Cuillin mountains
Brianna dreamed of a stunning Outlander inspired celebration on the beautiful Isle of Skye. It has been an absolute delight to paint this image from a wonderful anniversary celebrated with an adventure photoshoot that I photographed in fall .
The glorious autumn colours and slightly threatening clouds created the most atmospheric backdrop.
Food and travel writer Brianna, combined a magical trip to Scotland with stays and eats at the wonderful Kinloch Lodge on Skye and a foodie fest of some of our wonderful restaurants serving sensational local produce.
Venturing into the heart of Skye’s wilderness the couple hiked beneath the Cuillin mountains along rocky trails to a spectacular waterfall. Autumn on the Isle of Skye creates a rich palette of warm tones and the russet of the bracken and the grey skies created a moody and romantic sense.
I have loved re-living this moment when the couple twirled and spun – dancing like no-one was watching as I painted their story in oils over several weeks this spring time.
