Immortalising your Isle of Skye elopement wedding day with an oil painting that becomes an heirloom outliving the day for generations

Hello - Failte/Welcome

Why a wedding painting?

Some places leave a mark on you.
The Isle of Skye is one of them.

Here, weddings don’t feel staged or fleeting — they unfold within ancient landscapes, under shifting skies, surrounded by mountains and sea that have held stories for centuries. A wedding painting is a way of honouring that moment. Not just what happened, but how it felt to stand there together, in that place, on that day.

I was born and raised on Skye, and its light, weather, and wildness have shaped how I see the world and how I paint it. For me, creating a wedding painting isn’t about reproducing a photograph — it’s about distilling atmosphere, emotion, and landscape into something lasting. An artwork that carries the memory forward long after the day itself has passed.

I work in fine art oils, using layered, expressive brushwork to capture both the drama of Skye’s landscapes and the quiet human moments within them. Whether I’m painting live as your day unfolds, or creating a studio piece from your photographs, each painting is made slowly and thoughtfully, with the intention that it will live on your walls for generations.

Before turning fully to painting, I spent over fifteen years working as a wedding photographer across Skye and the Highlands, documenting ceremonies, elopements, and celebrations in some of the island’s most remote and beautiful places. That experience taught me how to read a moment — the light, the weather, the emotion — and how quickly it can all change. Painting allows me to hold those fleeting elements still.

I work live at weddings throughout Skye, the Highlands, and the islands, or create studio paintings afterwards from your favourite images. However the work is made, the intention remains the same: to create a piece of art that feels rooted in Skye, shaped by its landscape, and worthy of the story you’re beginning together.

About Rosie

I’m Rosie, an oil painter and wedding artist, born and raised on the Isle of Skye. This island isn’t just where I live — it’s the place that shaped how I see light, weather, people, and story. Its landscapes, moods, and quiet drama find their way into everything I paint.

Before focusing fully on fine art, I spent over fifteen years working behind the camera as a wedding photographer. That time gave me a deep understanding of how wedding days really unfold — the rhythm of the moments, the subtle shifts in light, the emotions that appear and disappear in an instant. It’s knowledge I now carry into painting, allowing me to work instinctively and calmly, whether I’m painting live or creating a studio piece afterwards.

My paintings are made in layered, expressive oils, with equal attention to the landscape and the people within it. Skye’s cliffs, coastlines, and skies are never just a backdrop — they’re part of the story. Every piece is created with longevity in mind, something made to be lived with, returned to, and eventually passed on.

I live in Breakish, the village I grew up in, and the place my grandparents once left to explore the wider world. Home life here is a lively mix of art, music, conversation, and three rescue dogs who keep everything slightly chaotic and very joyful. It’s a grounded, creative life — and one I feel incredibly grateful to share with the couples who invite me into such meaningful moments.

Kind Words

Receiving our painting brought forth tears. With her amazing talent and ability to understand - and creatively interpret - what we had hoped she could create, she has provided us with "the" picture. Thank you Rosie from the very bottom of our hearts. We will treasure this forever.
